Biological Background: SR-BI Function and Localization
- SR-BI, also known as CLA-1, is a member of the CD36 scavenger receptor family and functions as a receptor for various ligands including lipoproteins, phospholipids, and apoptotic cells.
- It mediates selective uptake of cholesteryl esters from high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and facilitates cellular cholesterol efflux, playing a critical role in reverse cholesterol transport. Related references: PMID:26965621

- For immunohistochemistry (IHC-P), antigen retrieval methods such as heat-induced epitope retrieval may enhance detection. Validate antibody specificity using appropriate positive and negative tissue controls.
- The antibody has reported cross-reactivity with human, mouse, and rat samples. When working with these species, ensure that the target epitope sequence is conserved.
