- SR-BI is a multiligand scavenger receptor that binds phospholipids, cholesterol esters, lipoproteins (HDL, LDL, VLDL), phosphatidylserine, and apoptotic cells, thereby participating in lipid metabolism and clearance of apoptotic debris.
