Biological Background: PLTP Function and Localization

• PLTP (phospholipid transfer protein), also known as lipid transfer protein II, mediates the transfer of phospholipids and free cholesterol from triglyceride-rich lipoproteins (VLDL/LDL) to HDL, and facilitates exchange among lipoproteins.
