- The protein is an integral component of the spliceosome, a large ribonucleoprotein complex responsible for pre-mRNA splicing, and influences alternative splicing decisions.
- HNRNPR localizes mainly to the nucleus, particularly the nucleoplasm, but can also be detected in the cytoplasm and associated with microsomal/endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membranes.
