  • ROCK2 (Rho-associated protein kinase 2, also known as ROCK-II or p164 ROCK-2) is a serine/threonine-protein kinase encoded by the ROCK2 gene.

  • In the hippocampus, ROCK2 is critical for the regulation of spine and synaptic properties, and it also contributes to the circadian rhythm of aortic myofilament Ca²⁺ sensitivity and vascular contractility.
  • Subcellularly, ROCK2 localizes to the cytoplasm, cell membrane, nucleus, cytoskeleton, microtubule organizing center, and centrosome.
