  • RanGAP1 (Ran GTPase-activating protein 1) serves as a GTPase activator for the small GTPase RAN, accelerating the conversion of GTP-bound RAN to GDP-bound RAN in the cytoplasm, a critical step for Ran-dependent nuclear transport.
