- DNA repair protein RAD51 homolog 4 (RAD51D), also known as RAD51 homolog D, RAD51-like protein 3 (RAD51L3), TRAD, R51H3, and BROVCA4, is encoded by the RAD51D gene (GeneID: 5892).
- Plays a critical role in homologous recombination repair (HRR) of double-stranded DNA breaks, binding single-stranded DNA and exhibiting DNA-dependent ATPase activity.
- Component of the RAD51 paralog protein complex BCDX2 (RAD51B-RAD51C-RAD51D-XRCC2), which operates in the BRCA1-BRCA2-dependent HR pathway, acting downstream of BRCA2 loading and upstream of RAD51 filament formation.
