Biological Background: PERK Function and Localization

• Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2-alpha kinase 3 (EIF2AK3), commonly known as PERK (PRKR-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase), also designated pancreatic eIF2-alpha kinase (HsPEK), protein tyrosine kinase EIF2AK3, PEK, and WRS.
