- CD98, also known as 4F2 cell-surface antigen heavy chain (4F2hc) or SLC3A2, is encoded by the Slc3a2 gene. It acts as a chaperone for SLC7 family amino acid transporters, facilitating their correct biogenesis and trafficking to the plasma membrane.
