Biological Background: CD83 Function and Localization
- CD83 is a transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, characterized by an extracellular immunoglobulin domain, a single transmembrane helix, and a cytoplasmic tail.
- It is predominantly expressed on the surface of dendritic cells, lymphocytes, and other immune cells, with abundant expression in the spleen and brain, and detectable in most tissues.

- Additionally, CD83 inhibits MARCHF1 association with MHC II and ubiquitination of MHC II, further modulating antigen presentation.
