Biological Background: Syk Function and Localization

• Syk (Spleen tyrosine kinase, p72-Syk) is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that mediates signal transduction downstream of various transmembrane receptors, including the B-cell receptor (BCR), regulating innate and adaptive immunity, cell adhesion, and platelet activation.
