Biological Background: Immunoglobulin Lambda Constant 1 Function and Localization
- Human Immunoglobulin lambda constant 1 (IGLC1), also known as Ig lambda chain C region MGC or Ig lambda-1 chain C region, is a constant region of immunoglobulin light chains.
- Immunoglobulins, produced by B lymphocytes, serve as membrane-bound receptors or secreted antibodies. - Each immunoglobulin molecule includes two identical light chains; the antigen binding site is formed by the variable domain of one heavy chain and that of one light chain.
