- T-cell surface glycoprotein CD8 beta chain (CD8b) is an integral membrane glycoprotein that serves as a coreceptor for MHC class I molecules in T-cells.
- CD8b interacts simultaneously with the T-cell receptor (TCR) and MHC class I:peptide complex on antigen-presenting cells, recruiting the Src kinase LCK to the TCR-CD3 complex to initiate signaling.
