Biological Background: CD38 Function and Localization

• CD38, also known as ADP-ribosyl cyclase/cyclic ADP-ribose hydrolase 1, is a multifunctional transmembrane glycoprotein encoded by the CD38 gene (GeneID: 952). Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing.
