Biological Background: CD131 Function and Localization
- Cytokine receptor common subunit beta (CD131, CSF2RB) is a 97 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein encoded by the CSF2RB gene, which also yields alternative splicing isoforms. It is a member of the type I cytokine receptor family and serves as the shared signal-transducing subunit for the interleukin-3 (IL-3), interleukin-5 (IL-5), and granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) receptors.
