- Histone H3 undergoes extensive post-translational modifications, including acetylation, methylation, phosphorylation, ADP-ribosylation, citrullination, hydroxylation, and ubiquitination, collectively known as the histone code, which modulates chromatin accessibility.
- H3.1t localizes to the nucleus and is associated with chromosomes.
