Biological Background: EGFR Function and Localization

• For Western blot (WB), a band of approximately 134 kDa is predicted for the full-length EGFR protein. Consider using appropriate phosphatase inhibitors during sample preparation to preserve phosphorylation.
• For ELISA, the antibody can be used to detect phosphorylated EGFR; consider using a non‑phosphorylated peptide as a negative control to confirm phospho‑specificity.
• The antibody is validated for human samples. Cross‑reactivity with other species has not been determined; if applied to other species, validate experimentally.
• As with any phospho‑specific antibody, lot‑to‑lot consistency and optimal working dilutions should be empirically determined in the relevant sample system.
