Biological Background: BRD4 Function and Localization
- BRD4 (Bromodomain-containing protein 4, also known as HUNK1) is a chromatin reader that recognizes and binds acetylated histones, playing a key role in the transmission of epigenetic memory across cell divisions and transcription regulation. - For western blotting (WB), a band of approximately 152 kDa is expected. Use a suitable gel percentage (e.g., 8% polyacrylamide) and optimize transfer conditions for high-molecular-weight proteins.
