Biological Background: CD28 Function and Localization

  • CD28 (T-cell-specific surface glycoprotein CD28, also known as Tp44) is a 25 kDa transmembrane receptor encoded by the CD28 gene in humans. It is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and exists as a disulfide-linked homodimer on the cell surface.
