  • NCOA4 (nuclear receptor coactivator 4), also known as ARA70, ELE1, and RFG, is a multifunctional protein with isoforms including a testis-specific isoform Beta.
  • As a cargo receptor for ferritinophagy, NCOA4 targets the iron-binding ferritin complex to autolysosomes upon starvation or iron depletion, playing a central role in cellular iron homeostasis. Related references: PMID:25327288 PMID:26436293
