  • HSP90β (HSP90AB1) is a molecular chaperone that promotes the maturation, structural maintenance, and proper regulation of client proteins involved in cell cycle control and signal transduction. It undergoes an ATPase-dependent functional cycle, interacting with various co-chaperones to modulate substrate recognition and chaperone activity.   • Apart from chaperone activity, HSP90β regulates transcription by altering transcription factor steady-state levels, modulating epigenetic modifiers like histone deacetylases, and evicting histones from promoter regions to turn on gene expression. Related references: PMID:25973397

  • HSP90β antagonizes STUB1-mediated inhibition of TGF-beta signaling by preventing STUB1-dependent SMAD3 ubiquitination and degradation. Related references: PMID:24613385
