- NDUFA13/GRIM19 is an accessory subunit of mitochondrial membrane respiratory chain Complex I that is not directly involved in catalysis, but is essential for electron transfer from NADH to ubiquinone. Related references: PMID:27626371
- It mediates interferon/all-trans-retinoic acid (IFN/RA)-induced apoptosis, and its apoptotic activity is inhibited by interaction with viral IRF1.
