Biological Background: IκB-ζ Function and Localization

• IκB-ζ (NF-kappa-B inhibitor zeta), alias INAP or MAIL, is a 78 kDa nuclear protein with ankyrin repeats, encoded by the NFKBIZ gene.
• It inhibits NF-kappa-B by blocking DNA-binding of RELA and NFKB1/p50 complexes, without affecting nuclear translocation. Related references: PMID:16513645
