Experimental Guidance and Technical Tips

  • For Western blot (WB), a band migrating around 22 kDa is expected, but due to glycosylation and other post-translational modifications, the observed molecular weight may be higher. Validate in relevant mouse samples, such as stimulated immune cell lysates.
  • For ELISA, the antibody may be tested in both direct and sandwich formats. Pairing with another IFN-beta antibody or using as a detection antibody could be considered. Confirm cross-reactivity and specificity with mouse IFN-beta and lack of cross-reactivity with other type I IFNs.
