Biological Background: E2F6 Function and Localization
- Transcription factor E2F6 acts as an inhibitor of E2F-dependent transcription, lacking transcriptional activation and pocket protein binding domains. Related references: PMID:9501179, PMID:9689056, PMID:9704927
- Binds DNA cooperatively with DP proteins through the E2 recognition site, with a preference for the 5'-TTTCCCGC-3' motif. Related references: PMID:9501179
