Biological Background: Caspase-7 Function and Localization

• Caspase-7 is a thiol protease that participates in various programmed cell death processes, including apoptosis, pyroptosis, and granzyme-mediated death, through proteolytic cleavage of target proteins. Experimental Guidance and Technical Tips

The pro-form has a predicted molecular weight of 34 kDa, while the cleaved fragments (p20 and p11) run at lower molecular weights. Validate in your specific cell line and treatment conditions.

• This antibody is validated for ELISA and may be used as a capture or detection antibody in sandwich ELISA formats to quantify cleaved caspase-7 levels in cell lysates or culture supernatants. Optimization of coating concentration and sample dilution is advised.

• Cross-reactivity is confirmed for human samples; reactivity with other species has not been tested. If working with non-human models, consider performing sequence alignment and experimental validation.
