- CITED2 (Cbp/p300-interacting transactivator 2), also known as MRG-1 or P35srj, is a transcriptional coactivator that bridges TFAP2 transcription factors and the p300/CBP coactivator complex to stimulate TFAP2-mediated activation.
- It positively regulates TGF-beta signaling via the SMAD/p300/CBP complex and enhances the transcriptional activity of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARA) and estrogen receptors.
- CITED2 also acts as a transcriptional corepressor by interfering with the binding of HIF1A or STAT2 to the p300/CBP complex.
