- Immunoglobulin heavy constant mu (IgM) is the constant region of the mu heavy chain, forming the antigen-binding arms of IgM antibodies. It is encoded by the Ighm gene in the immunoglobulin heavy chain locus.
- Secreted IgM (sIgM) multimerizes predominantly into pentamers, with occasional hexamers, enabling high-avidity binding to antigens.
