- CD45, designated receptor-type tyrosine-protein phosphatase C, is a transmembrane glycoprotein also known as leukocyte common antigen (L-CA), Ly-5, or T200. It serves as a critical regulator of lymphocyte activation and differentiation.
- As a tyrosine-protein phosphatase, CD45 is essential for T-cell activation through the antigen receptor. It positively regulates T-cell coactivation upon binding to DPP4, facilitating signal transduction.
- The intracellular region contains two tandem phosphatase domains. The first domain (D1) possesses catalytic activity, while the second domain (D2) influences the substrate specificity of D1, fine-tuning signal output.
