Biological Background: CD38 Function and Localization
- CD38 is a multifunctional transmembrane glycoprotein that serves as an enzyme (ADP-ribosyl cyclase and cyclic ADP-ribose hydrolase) and a receptor, playing roles in calcium mobilization, signal transduction, and cell adhesion.
