Biological Background: Transferrin Receptor Protein 1 (CD71) Function and Localization
- Transferrin receptor protein 1 (TFRC/CD71/T9/p90/TFR) is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein that mediates cellular iron uptake via receptor-mediated endocytosis of transferrin.
