  • CD66a/CEACAM1, also known as Biliary glycoprotein 1 (BGP-1), is a member of the carcinoembryonic antigen family and mediates calcium-independent homophilic cell adhesion, contributing to tissue architecture and intercellular interactions.
  • Acts as a coinhibitory receptor in immune cells: upon TCR stimulation in T cells, it recruits PTPN6 to dephosphorylate CD247 and ZAP70, inhibiting cytotoxicity and cytokine production; in NK cells, trans-homophilic interactions with target cells lead to PTPN6 recruitment and VAV1 dephosphorylation, suppressing cytolysis; thus regulating autoimmunity and anti-tumor immunity (PubMed:18424730, 23696226, 25363763).
