  • ZMYND8 (MYND-type zinc finger-containing chromatin reader) is a member of the zinc finger protein family and serves as a reader of dual histone modifications, recognizing marks such as H3.1K36me2-H4K16ac and H3K4me1-H3K14ac.   • In response to DNA damage, ZMYND8 recognizes acetylated histone H4 and recruits the NuRD chromatin remodeling complex to damaged chromatin, facilitating transcriptional repression and double-strand break repair by homologous recombination.
