  • Zinc finger CCCH domain-containing protein 7A (ZC3H7A), also known as ZC3H7 or ZC3HDC7, is encoded by the ZC3H7A gene in humans.
  • ZC3H7A is a putative regulator of microRNA (miRNA) biogenesis. It binds to the hairpin structures of MIR7-1, MIR16-2, and MIR29A, specifically recognizing the 3'-ATA(A/T)-5' motif in the apical loop.
  • The protein localizes to the nucleus, consistent with its role in miRNA processing.
  • ZC3H7A contains CCCH-type zinc finger domains, TPR repeats, and coiled coil regions, and is capable of RNA binding and metal binding via its zinc fingers.
  • It undergoes alternative splicing and is identified as a phosphoprotein in proteomics studies, suggesting post-translational regulation.

  • The immunogen corresponds to the N-terminal region (aa 1-220) of human ZC3H7A. For Western blot, a band around 111 kDa is predicted; validate with appropriate positive and negative lysates.
