- Exportin-T (XPOT), also designated XPO3 or tRNA exportin, is encoded by the XPOT gene and functions as a specific export receptor for aminoacylated tRNAs.
- In the nucleus, XPOT binds mature aminoacylated tRNAs and the GTP-bound form of Ran (Ran-GTP) to form a trimeric nuclear export complex.

- Once in the cytoplasm, Ran-GTP hydrolysis (stimulated by RANBP1 and RANGAP1) triggers complex disassembly and release of the tRNA cargo; XPOT then recycles back to the nucleus.
