- VPS26A, also known as hVPS26 or HB58, is a core component of the retromer cargo-selective complex (CSC), which prevents missorting of transmembrane cargo to the lysosome and mediates endosome-to-TGN and plasma membrane recycling.
- The retromer CSC is recruited to the endosomal membrane via RAB7A and SNX3, acting as a hub for accessory proteins such as the WASH complex and TBC1D5.
