  • Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 S (UBE2S, also known as E2-EPF or UBE2S) is a member of the ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family that accepts ubiquitin from the E1 complex and catalyzes its covalent attachment to substrates.
  • Plays an essential role in cell cycle regulation as a component of the anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), where it specifically elongates 'Lys-11'-linked polyubiquitin chains initiated by UBE2C, enhancing the degradation of APC/C substrates and promoting mitotic exit.
