Biological Background: TSC22D3 Function and Localization
- TSC22D3 (also known as GILZ, DIP, DSIPI, TSC-22R) is a glucocorticoid-induced leucine zipper protein belonging to the TSC-22 domain family. It is encoded by the TSC22D3 gene and has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 14.8 kDa.
- The protein protects T-cells from IL2 deprivation-induced apoptosis by inhibiting FOXO3A transcriptional activity, leading to down-regulation of the pro-apoptotic factor BCL2L11.
