  • Encoded by the TNKS1BP1 gene, the 182 kDa tankyrase-1-binding protein (TAB182) is also known as KIAA1741.
  • The gene undergoes alternative splicing, producing multiple transcript variants.
  • TNKS1BP1 localizes to multiple subcellular compartments including the nucleus, cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, and chromosomes.
  • It is a phosphoprotein and subject to post-translational modifications such as ADP-ribosylation and methylation.
  • Tissue expression is detected in testis, ovary, lung, skeletal muscle, heart, prostate, and pancreas, with very low levels in brain and peripheral blood leukocytes.
