Biological Background: TARBP2 Function and Localization
- TARBP2 is an essential subunit of the RISC loading complex, where it partners with DICER1 and AGO2 to cleave precursor microRNAs (pre-miRNAs) into mature miRNAs and load them onto AGO2, forming the core of the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC). - TARBP2 can modulate DICER1 cleavage site selection on certain pre-miRNAs, influencing mature miRNA sequence and function. Related references: PMID:23063653
