  • Serves as an adapter protein involved in I-kappa-B-kinase (IKK) regulation, constitutively binding TBK1 and IKBKE to play a critical role in antiviral innate immunity.
  • Acts as a negative regulator of TRAF function, maintaining TRAF proteins in a latent state and blocking TRAF2 binding to LMP1 to inhibit LMP1-mediated NF-kappa-B activation.
  • Negatively regulates NF-kappaB signaling and cell survival upon DNA damage; assembles a deubiquitination complex with ZC3H12A and USP10 that attenuates NF-kappaB activation via deubiquitination of IKBKG or TRAF6 in response to IL1B stimulation or DNA damage. Related references: PMID:25861989
