  • It regulates the mobility of neuronal dense core vesicles (DCVs) through interaction with KIF1A; phosphorylation by MAPK8/JNK1 upon neuronal activation destabilizes this interaction, capturing DCVs at synapses (by similarity).

  • The protein is localized to the membrane of cytoplasmic vesicles, particularly neuronal dense core vesicles.
