  • Synaptonemal complex protein 3 (SYCP3), also known as SCP3, COR1, SPGF4, or RPRGL4, is a 27729 Da testis-specific protein encoded by the SYCP3 gene (Gene ID 50511) in humans.
  • Component of the synaptonemal complex (SC), a tripartite protein structure formed between homologous chromosomes during meiotic prophase, essential for proper chromosome synapsis and recombination.
  • Required for centromere pairing during meiosis in male germ cells (By similarity), facilitating correct chromosome segregation.
