- SSB encodes the Lupus La protein, also known as La autoantigen, La ribonucleoprotein, and Sjögren syndrome type B antigen (SS-B). It is a ubiquitously expressed nuclear phosphoprotein that belongs to the La-related protein (LARP) family.
