  • SLC12A2 (also known as NKCC1, BSC2, CCC1, BSC-2, KILQS, PPP1R141) is a cation-chloride cotransporter that mediates electroneutral transport of sodium, potassium, and chloride ions across the plasma membrane, playing a critical role in cell volume regulation and ionic homeostasis.   • It is a member of the solute carrier family 12 (SLC12) of electroneutral cation-coupled chloride cotransporters, characterized by 12 transmembrane domains and intracellular N- and C-termini.
