  • SH2 domain-containing protein 1A (SH2D1A), also known as signaling lymphocytic activation molecule (SLAM)-associated protein (SAP), is a cytoplasmic adapter protein critical for immune cell signaling (O60880).
  • SH2D1A regulates receptors of the SLAM family, including SLAMF1, CD244, LY9, CD84, SLAMF6, and SLAMF7, acting as a key modulator of lymphocyte activation.
  • Early studies proposed that SH2D1A blocks the association of SLAMF1 with inhibitory effectors SHIP1 and SHP-2, preventing negative signaling (PubMed:11806999). Related references: PMID:11806999
