  • The SARS gene encodes cytoplasmic seryl-tRNA synthetase (SerRS), also known as seryl-tRNA(Ser/Sec) synthetase, a class II aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase essential for protein translation. Alternative names include SERS, SERRS, and NEDMAS.
