Biological Background: RSK2 Function and Localization

• RSK2 (Ribosomal protein S6 kinase alpha-3), also known as RPS6KA3, p90RSK3, MAPKAPK1B, and ISPK-1, is a serine/threonine-protein kinase encoded by the RPS6KA3 gene on human chromosome X. It belongs to the AGC kinase family and contains two kinase domains connected by a linker region.
