  • RPS17 is a component of the small ribosomal subunit, essential for protein synthesis. Related references: PMID:23636399
  • It is part of the small subunit (SSU) processome, the precursor of the small eukaryotic ribosomal subunit, and participates in pre-rRNA processing, folding, and modification during ribosome biogenesis. Related references: PMID:34516797
  • Localized in the cytoplasm, nucleus, and nucleolus.
  • RPS17 belongs to the ribosomal protein S17e family and is also known as 40S ribosomal protein S17.
  • Mutations in RPS17 are associated with Diamond-Blackfan anemia, a disorder characterized by erythroid hypoplasia.
  • The protein undergoes post-translational modifications including phosphorylation and ubiquitin-like conjugation.

  • The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the N-terminal region (aa 1-100) of human RPS17. For Western blotting, the expected protein weight is ~16 kDa. Consider using reducing conditions for SDS-PAGE.
