Biological Background: Prostatic Acid Phosphatase (ACPP) Function and Localization

• Prostatic acid phosphatase (ACPP), encoded by the ACP3 gene, is a secreted and membrane-associated protein also known as 5′-nucleotidase (5′-NT), acid phosphatase 3, and thiamine monophosphatase (TMPase). Alternative splicing produces multiple isoforms.
